I've got an Ultra2 (2x200MHz, 512M, debian sid) which has performed superbly for over a month. Last night, however, it locked up twice in the space6 hours. The first time I chalked it up to a glitch in the new version of X which had installed earlier that evening.
The second time, however, the machine refused to boot. The OpenBoot banner with the CPU and RAM count comes up, "Initiaizing RAM" ticks by, then it just sits there. No SILO prompt, STOP-A does nothing. I've yanked ALL the RAM in permutation, swapped out CPU modules and the 2 hard drives, checked the internal card and cable connections, and nothing makes a difference. Anyone have an idea? All help greatly appreciated :) -- shawn boyette - [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------------------------------- ...somewhere behind enemy lines... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
