Then try a different color depth? Set the default depth in
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 to 8, 15, 16, 24, or whatever, until it works.
Apparently, I was unclear.
I have tried 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 16, and 24. If I not mistake, I'm out of options.
Are you implying that you have in fact had it work on a cg14?
