Hi-I'm trying to install etch on a Sun Blade 2500, with SCSI hard drives, and running into this same problem. I did an lspci and saw the sym53c scsi , so I modprob'ed that driver, and it stuck. However, dmesg is not showing any drives popping up, nor does the 'detect disks' part of the installer show anything when I re-run that.
