Muß er nicht. Aus der Anleitung zu Autoconf (in der Einleitung):
"The configuration script produced by Autoconf are independent
of Autoconf when they are run, so their users do not need to
have Autoconf."
Nebenbei ist Autoconf ein echt geniales Tool :-)
