eso significa que van a salir imágenes de instalación "non-free" que
si incluyan el firmware que sacaron, y por supuesto, no hay soporte
para eso porque no es software libre. Y claro, si ese firmware no es
software libre, solo puede arreglarlo el fabricante
Lo malo de todo esto es que ya no va a ser cuestión de quemar un cd o
dvd de la imagen oficial y ponerse a instalar y listo. Ahora tendrás que
ver que tu hardware tenga soporte dentro del firmware libre. Me temo que
de ser así la mayoría de la gente se va a inclinar por instalar desde
las imágenes con soporte non-free.
Debian nunca ha sido una prioridad para los fabricantes. No se si esta
movida haga que algún fabricante de hardware modifique su política en
cuanto a la licencia del código de su firmware. De igual modo, esperemos
que sí.
