Yo uso uw-imapd-ssl, hace lo mismo que uw-imapd pero con posibilidad de imap con ssl. En realidad con ese paquete das posibilidad de conectar con imap2, imap3 e imaps, tu decides habilitando o deshabilitando en inetd.conf.
