i just did a dist-upgrade on a system with all partitions on reiserfs. during the upgrade, a power failure made the system restart. upon booting up, dpkg/apt is thoroughly broken:

as you can see, the available file is very corrupt. my question is:
how did this happen? is it reiserfs, which supposedly isn't all that
great, or is this something to do with apt/dpkg. can i fix it easily?
