whenever i paste a text containing digraph characters from mozilla or
galeon into vi or the shell even, they are split into two characters,
the two that make up the digraph.

example: pasting

  franaise

will yield this

  franc,aise

to be pasted. the is generated by combining , and c with the digraph
technique in vim, for instance.

pasting from acroread, opera, and gimp does not exhibit this problem.

does anyone know how i can fix this? or what is responsible for that?
unicode? i don't use that, at least not to my knowledge...
