When Win2k was installed on hde, the system looked like: hde (SATA): empty hdg (SATA): empty In other words, the PATA drive wasn't in the sytem. I added that after the Win2k install. BTW, when I change the BIOS boot order from: boot off HDD-0 to boot off SATA the sytem boots right into Win2k, and the boot looks healthy. Thanks!
