Hardware detection reports
VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller
as my on-motherboard USB controller. It's part of my old, old Biostar M7VKL
motherboard.
Also, whenever the USB subsystem freezes, "shutdown -h" and "halt" fail to
do anything. They themselves send out the warning message, then go into a
noninterruptable wait state. Annoying.
