Yep, I thought so. I did that once before.

Lilo most likely backed it up. 

Boot back into your Linux system. If you can't boot into linux use a floppy
to do so. If you don't have a floppy you can use the rescue disk to get to
your system and use dd to create a floppy that will boot your into your
Linux system.

Once you have done so just type:

/sbin/lilo -u

The -u option will restore your backup.

Yes but I'll bet if you try typing dir c:\ at the a:\ prompt DOS won't be
able to read it, because the boot sector contains essential FAT info.
