HELP: Deselect lock on Access

[Albert Hurd]

I just booted my floppy to do another fresh install of 1.3.1. When I choose
Access from the menu, I get--
       unable to open/create access method lockfile: permission denied

Could anyone tell me what gives, and how to proceed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
