You could try this: $ (for d in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/* ; do echo $d ; cat $d/fonts.dir ; done) > fonts (all on one line) to create a file that shows all fonts installed on your system. There you can see if the font is actually installed (it is here).
