The common answer to each above is TCP/IP, and SMB. Windows
machines (3.11 and better) will talk to each other using
NETBEUI. Add TCP/IP as a protocol in windows. Under Linux, you 
should install samba, which will talk to your windows machines
using SMB over TCP/IP, the same as an NT or 95 or 3.11 machine.

To talk linux to linux, use NFS, and the lpr system can print to
'remote' printers on other *nix systems.
