hallo linux specialists, so far I'm not a specialist myself, but I just want to install the system, and it does not startup.
The boot prompt appears all right, then loading linux hangs up with the following last lines at screen: ... aic7xxx: Resetting the SCSI bus...done. qlogicisp : PCI bios not present eata_dma: No BIOS32 extensions present. This driver release still depends on it. o Skipping scan for PCI HBAs. aic7xxx: (aic7xxx_isr) Encountered spurious interrupt. scsi0: BRKADRINT error (0x1): Illegal Host Access Kernel panic: scsi0: BRKADRINT, error 0x1, seqaddr 0x0. That's it. Only valid actions then are Power Off or RESET. No change loading with linux aic7xxx=no_reset Any hints? Configuration: It is a digital DECpc 466d2 MTE (EISA) with 16MB RAM, Adaptec 2740 SCSI controller, 2GB Quantum Fireball Tempest (SCSI), Toshiba SCSI-CDROM, Tandberg SCSI Tape drive, Ethernet adapter (Intel EtherExpress) and ISDN adapter (Teles S0-16.3 NO Plug&Play) An IDE harddisk and it's controller are disabled in the BIOS, the SCSI harddisk is partitioned with 2 FAT and 2 NTFS partitiones - I want to remove them all during installation after one successful linux startup to run linux only on this station. Not to forget: A Happy New Year to all who have read till here. Gesine and Stephan -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
