I am not much of an expert in the field, but have recently managed to install mgetty+sendfax and apache on my Debian box, thanks to the fantastic packaging system. It seems to work well. In the distribution of mgetty I discovered a front-end for sending faxes called: webfax_0.8., which is not in .deb format. Trouble begins... I have un-tarred this in a directory /var/www/fax, where I manage to access the index page with a browser on my (win95) client. This seems to work well. No when I fill in the fax-form and press the 'submit' button, the next page shows just the 'shortfax.pl' script (instead of executing it, I suppose). Is there any obvious thing I am overlooking? The documentation for the webfax package is very short, I did read it. Unfortunately I do not know a lot about cgi-programming. Also, I tried to move the .pl scripts to /usr/lib/cgi-bin where I think apache would like to see then, but that did not help. Has anyone been more successful with the webfax? I would really appreciate some hints!
