I'm running Debian GNU/Linux 1.3 on a 486 clone and I've tried many permutations of
tar -zcvf test.tar * --exclude=leave_me_out.txt The file I ask to be excluded is reliably INcluded. Is my syntax wrong? Please help. Looking forward to the guidance that comes from experience...
