Hi David,

I upgraded our print server from bo to hamm. Since then, we see race
conditions when printing ascii files (the filter entry is

default filter /usr/bin/enscript

Sending ascii files to the printer (lpr *.h) results in a random number of
files printed. It is neither clear (=reproducible) which files are printed nor
how many.

Converting them to postscript works fine. We are using lprng.

It looks somewhat like the problem which is supposed to be fixed:

  * Fix /tmp-exploits bug reported by Thomas Rössler (Bug#21251:
magicfilter: magicfilter-1.2 contains a tmpnam() race condition).
He also donated the patch (thanks!).

Rainer.
