My comments about the Exabyte are consistent with comments by Leonard Zubkoff, author of the Buslogic Linux driver: see the last quarter of Zubkoff's web page, http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/BusLogic.html Or see Mylex's own comments about the problem. I don't give the web page because it is excessively long, but go to Mylex's web page http://www.rightnowtech.com/cgi-bin/mylex and search on exabyte for their single entry on "tape drive errors in Linux". Their solution involves putting older firmware onto their BT-958 and other adapter cards. Perhaps your older firmware didn't have the problems that Buslogic's newer firmware has.
