This looks like the problem reported as bug #31811 (http://www.debian.org/Bugs/db/31/31811.html) (xfig gets loaded against an incompatible Athena widget library (neXtaw)). You could try the suggestion I gave in the discussion about this bug: - install xaw-wrappers - add "/usr/X11R6/bin/xfig,/usr/X11R6/lib/neXtaw" to /etc/X11/xaw-wrappers.conf - run /usr/sbin/update-xaw-wrappers .
