I recently bought a 64 Mb DIMM and installed it on my Intel i430VW motherboard. First I moved my existing pair of 16 Mb EDOs to the 2-3 slots and put in the 64 Mb DIMM, too. When I rebooted, the BIOS reported 16Mb, cat /proc/meminfo agreed. I removed my EDO memory, and both BIOS and meminfo still reported 16Mb. Removing the DIMM and putting the pair of 16Mb EDOs caused the BIOS and meminfo to report the expected 32Mb. I guess I got a 16Mb DIMM by mistake, or, perhaps, a bad one or something, but I thought I'd see if I'm overlooking something dumb before I take the DIMM back. Am I missing something?
