You need to start up the printer daemon. Only a priveleged user can do this so try: $su <(enter your root password)> #lpd #exit Then try and print the file again. Normally, you should get the lpd daemon started automatically at start-up, so you may well get an error message when you try this. Hopefully it will be helpful. HTH Rich
