I did it for almost 2 years before recently switching to the 'make-kpkg' method. Make-kpkg is really nice, and quite easy. It turns the newly compiled kernel into a .deb file, which you can easily install. It will make sure things like the system map file get put in the right place, and other handly little details like that. noah PGP public key available at http://lynx.dac.neu.edu/home/httpd/n/nmeyerha/mail.html or by 'finger -l [EMAIL PROTECTED]' This message was composed in a 100% Microsoft free environment. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 iQCVAwUBNxUFpodCcpBjGWoFAQFudAQAtRNEYpO+WAOEC0maKaoRgNsVzoyjWB8L fgqeEJz0IVhBXwpQS+jo4FRaL3oEdJqbf/krbDCLKoDX83Q4mV7PRUEmdc5CA3aG 9msukruH2Qf0+UvZ027rbRmgue9293M9yrk/UnODxIrCn1fKPolvMK89539UnjH+ ucx/w14X7yI= =h61d -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
