I've got some questions about compiling a kernel on a (partially) potato system. Most of my packages are still slink, however I have upgraded gcc to the egcs version. I'm curious:
a) Is it possible to compile a kernel (2.2.8) using the egcs compiler? b) If not, how do I make the kernel using the gcc272 package compiler This is going to be my first attempt at a kernel compile, and I'd like to avoid breaking anything. :) I'm not sure if it's easier to change some symlinks around to point at gcc272 or if there's a variable in the makefile that I can change and achieve the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, MBG -- "Infinite: Bigger than the biggest thing ever and then some.
