Here's my $HOME/.xinitrc which outlines the starting sequence:
xrdb -load $HOME/.Xdefaults
ssh-agent fvwm &
exec /usr/bin/gnome-session
Just replace "fvwm" with "englightment". .xsession is linked to
.xinitrc here.
