Why does the 2.1 rescue disk not allow you to install to a esdi drive when the 2.0 rescue disk does? At boot time, the kernel on the 2.1 rescue disk sees the drives, so the kernel is basically the same as the 2.0 kernel, but there are no devices for esdi drives (eda, edb, etc) in /dev once the rescue disk is booted. Since the kernel is the same, this must be an oversite right? It doesn't make sense to be able to install to an esdi drive in 20 and not 2.1. Can anyone shead some light on why this has happened?
