the minimum requirements are included in the kernel source. Look in the Documentation/Changes file. Very straight forward. Potato is based on libc6 2.1 and slink uses 2.0. you may have to grab the source and compile. I'm running slink, and upgraded necessary packages before potato went to 2.1.
