dpkg problem in unstable stream

I'm getting this error whenever I try and add ANY package with dpkg:

 fgets gave an empty null-terminated string from
`/var/lib/dpkg/info/libpam-doc.list'

I get this when trying to add/remove/config, anything.

Any help would be appreciated.
