It's interesting reading the backgrounds of people whose names one sees every day. I don't post much to the list because, due to the time difference (I'm at the arse-end of the world), by the time I get to reading the list most of what I can contribute to has already been resolved. I work as a journalist for the Tech sub-sections of the Web sites of two Australian broadsheet newspapers - The Age (Melbourne) and The Sydney Morning Herald (Sydney). I write, edit, do copy tasting and production work, and also make my own tea. I use Debian at home for all my needs and also on a server for my own Web site and the family's mail. I also help to run a charity project to provide Internet access for elderly and disabled people in one region of the state of Victoria - we use a P133 running Debian as our server. It handles mail, dial-up and caching-only DNS for about 55 people.
