apsfilter vs. magikfilter and hp printer

Whats the us and downs of these to packages?
I need to use a hp 810c which I just bought.
which will be more apropriate?
Is there any documentation on using hp printers in order to get the
deferent capabilities from the printer (deferent quallity, resolution,
papersize, twoside printing etc. ?
