wel i couldn't resist:) grabbed the potato version and much to my embarrishment it was just a matter of configuration. fortunately hiding the shadow files is now default, so i just followed potato and put "* : shadow : port" into /etc/ypserv.conf and all is swell -- groetjes, carel
