To give you another way that works... I use lprng and this is how I have connected to an hp4k printer...
tnp015|rm164_hp|Remote hp8kN(ps) printer :lp=tnp015.ten.alcoa.com%9100 :sd=/var/spool/lpd/tnp015 :mx#0 :sf :sh This is roughly equivalent to using the raw printer name with rm: and rp: entries...
