hi ya dale.. if your partition names /dev/hda1.../dev/hda2...etc is the same as on the old box and the new one...
and /dev/floppy and /dev/cdrom and /dev/pts and other things in /etc/fstab is the same...yeah...you can copy it but by the time you find all the differences...you are already done and dont need to copy since you added the "needed" stuff ( /home ) from the old to the new system.. ie....hint....do NOT copy it... c ya alvin On Sun, 1 Oct 2000, Dale Morris wrote: > This is probably embarassingly simple, but I'd better ask..
