Hello! Don't know how to create the trash bin either (because I'm also quite new to Linux) but I suggest to you to use apsfilter instead of magicfilter. The newest versions have a *very* good setup script or program or whatever, you only have to insert the server and printer name and it will be ok... I only don't know if these new versions are already packaged into .debs, I'm using a generic tar.gz. Indeed, it seems to me like apsfilter was once installed on your system and the config is still from that time, but the apsfilter-scripts are missing. So, a reinstall and reconfigure of apsfilter should help.
