One option is to use sudo. You'll have to run 'sudo -v' to bypass the timeout, and, depending on use, you'll probably want to set yourself up with full priviledges under sudo, which while convenient, isn't the safest thing in the world. Me, I generally just use an xterm. Or the 'run' dialog under WindowMaker. -- Karsten M.
