  Try running dpkg with force-overwrite option (it was the default in old
  version and is no more which caused some problems during the transitions
  from X 3.3.6 -> X 4.0.2) ... To do this, use :

  dpkg --force-overwrite --install xlibs_4.0.2-1_i386.deb

  This problem should disapear when version of packages compiled with the
  new version of X get into woody ...

Hope this help
