So I hope this helps. If you want the ALSA drivers and not the OSS (kernel sound) in the kernel select just the top level sound option as a module (if it can be, i can't remember at the moment). You said you had all the modules setup. So in /etc/modutils/<afile> put options snd-card-emu10k1 snd_id="SB Live!" alias char-major-116 snd alias char-major-14 soundcore alias snd-card-0 snd-card-emu10k1 alias snd-slot-0 snd-card-0 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss Not forgeting updatemodules or something similar. Remember to unmute the sound first (alasamixer). I hope this helps you. Ian
