I have done this a few times - and have on one occasion made a hash of it. The most recent time I used Partition Magic - it can copy a partition from one drive to another. It was the easiest hard drivr upgrade ever. I didn't even need to run lilo since I set up the new drive as hda and the old drive as hdb. I got Partition Magic to copy the partition from hdb to hda and rebooted. Everything worked fine. I then used PM again to resize the partition to take advantage of the larger hard drive capacity of the new drive. -- Phillip Deackes Using Progeny Debian Linux
