raid0-a > disk1 should be hda ( controller on mb ) > disk2 is hde raid0-b > disk3 is hdc ( controller on mb ) > disk4 is hdg Notice that one half of each raid1 is on a different controller, so if one controller dies, you'll have a better chance of recovery. Unless you have a recent motherboard, for older (read, pII <400), you will probably want to get a udma >= 66. But if you are happy with the ide on your MB, by all means, use it. I plan to add a pair of ide disks to my scsi raid myself. Mike
