I have been trying to get more than 16 colours in vim on the console. As a beginner that is way beyond my capabilities. I configured the kernel to use framebuffer (2.4.4 + rivafb) and it looks really nice, except for the cursor after exiting from X. (4 characters x 2 lines) In x-term i have configured vim with 256 colours but in X I prefer the GUI version. As an experiment I tried jfbterm and that is a very promising package, sadly it lacks documentation, and it is only supporting fb16. But it does cure the cursor problem. The real question is, does anybody work on something similar to jfbterm, regarding more colours ? Any input on how to proceed is most welcome. Leo
