G'day Roland, I think this is a common problem with Debian (at least I remember it being on the list at infrequent intervals) my solutions is to make a .fetchmail in my home directory edit the /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/fetchmail script so it only contains. su -c "fetchmail --daemon 300" <user-id-here> this automaticly fetches the mail from the servers in my .fetchmail when I connect to the web -- Joel
