I'm running Debian Potato and need some web browser with encryption and some plugins. Mozilla in unstable would not install cleanly so I tried Netscape 6.1. After a custom install (browser, Java plugin, Flash plugin) Netscape runs fine, but it does not recognize any plugins but the libnullplugin.so. The other plugins are present, the Java plugin is a correct symlink to the plugin shipped with the Netscape install. Java does run from the command line.
I've found some hints in the archives, e.g. setting NPX_PLUGIN_PATH, but that didn't help either. Is there any magic invocation that will Netscape see its plugins? BTW I ran Communicator 4.73, Mozilla 0.9.1 and 0.9.2 previously but I think that I successfully removed all traces of these versions so this should not be some interference with a previous install. regards, Markus -- Markus Hoenicka [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/hoenicka_markus/
