it is. you don't install testing packages on stable. don't try you'll probably have moreproblems then its worth. you can try to build it from source via apt-get -b mysql-server but last time i tried that it did not work. to get mysql 3.23 i reccomend downloading it from mysql.com and installing it to /usr/local/mysql thats what i have, running on 2 or 3 debian potato systems. nate
