I had Savage2k chipset - it sukx bad. Replaced with Radeon and works perfectly... As for ProSavage, I don't know.... Try "savage" for driver in X [assuming version >=4.1.0]. If it doesn't work, then at leave VESA fb should work.. I had to do that at the beginning of running Debian myself [slink]. You will not be getting 3D accel. For those the best cards to get are Radeon 64DDR or GeForce II/III cards. - Adam
