OK, thus far I have not been using gconf. I saw gconf running due to
some automation I am not familiar with. That was while I had my initial
problem with the gnome menu bar. No though I shall check it out.
does anyone know where there is some documentation on gnome & window
managers & gconf etc? I can't find anything.
