Re-installing is a Windows-type approach. With the possible exception
of a hard drive failure or a system compromise, there should never be a
need to re-install.
True, but... I still find no good tool to keep track of what all a
Debian installation has, in terms of files.
As a result, never re-installing eventually causes a system that is huge
and has all sorts of things on it that are not actually needed.
So I do re-install with a script, that allows me to know exactly what I
want and need on a system and what I don't.
Maybe just me ;-)
