Not on mine. I have two 7200.8 300gig drives. md1 is raid1:

/dev/sdc:
 Timing buffered disk reads:  184 MB in  3.02 seconds =  61.00 MB/sec
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(null) (wait for flush complete) failed: Inappropriate ioctl
for device
/dev/sdd:
 Timing buffered disk reads:  184 MB in  3.00 seconds =  61.28 MB/sec
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(null) (wait for flush complete) failed: Inappropriate ioctl
for device
/dev/md1:
 Timing buffered disk reads:  210 MB in  3.01 seconds =  69.71 MB/sec

It may be reading high on the single disk throughput, though, since flush
isn't working.
