Hi there, I'm trying to install Debian Sarge on my Dell Dimension 5150 using the netinst CD. There are two problems: 1. The HD is not recognized. The controller is an Intel 82801GB, connected to a SATA hard drive. 2, The Network card is not recognized. It is an Intel PRO 100/VE.
I've read elsewhere that the HD problem may be solved by modprobing sata_piix. However, this module is not on the installation CD. Apparently, the second problem can be solved by tweaking the source files of the eepro100 module. So, here are my questions: - How do I get the sources for the eepro100 module? Is that just a simple apt-get? How do I then make it into a kernel module? - How do I get a copy of the sata_piix module? - Once I have these modules, how do I make a netinst installation CD with the two on them? Any help is much appreciated, especially pointers to documentation. Gabor
