Which group should 'own' the files in my home directory? I just noticed that most sub-directories and files in my home folder are owned by dan:dan.
dan is the user account i use on my pc, it is the only account i log in under other than root (this is a home pc, i'm the only one that uses it). The output from 'groups' shows that I am not a member of 'users' but that my initial group is 'dan' which as a gid of 1000. The 'users' group is gid 100. This doesn't seem right to me.
