[PARTIALLY SOLVED!!] Ok...this is going to sound a little stupid, but if I installed Sarge normally with the 2.4.27 kernel, everything works properly.
This baffles me even more because I don't really see why a 2.4 kernel would recognize the hardware, but not the 2.6 kernel.
